Waterbound 'Shasta' III
For many years, the roof crews worked from a humble office over on 9th Street in Texas City and out of trucks that just got them from A to B. Jeff knew the focus needed to be on quality, and that would one day pay him back! The only salesman running calls was Jeff himself. This was a key component of his connection to the community from the beginning. He was always looking to get to know the customer as more than a client, but as a friend. To this day, we receive calls from people asking for Jeff to come out because they remember him doing their roof 20-30 years back, and they know they can trust him. Not many companies get to hear that!
Jeff Prouty started Guaranteed Roofing in 1981 with an old blue pickup truck and an appetite for adventure! Even in the beginning, Jeff knew this would be a family run business. His first family addition came back in the 1980s when his old pal, Shasta, joined the team. There was definitely some favoritism shown when she went straight to Supervisor! She accompanied Jeff between jobs; keeping an eye on things and maintaining the team's morale. One day, Shasta was caught on camera by The Galveston County Daily News and graced the front page with her laid back beauty shot. Shasta has since gone to be with the Lord. She will always be missed and remembered for her masterful hunting skills, love of water, and dedication to quality roofing!
Years later, as the company's skills expanded, Prouty Construction was born. This was a new side of the business that focused on anything and everything not having to do with roofing. Now, Jeff could assist customers with almost anything they needed done. Word spread about Guaranteed Roofing & Prouty Construction by word-of-mouth for years. Jeff kept his focus on quality, growing his team, and nurturing the company culture. In 2007 his oldest daughter, Leesa, began answering phones, booking appointments, and typing formal estimates.
